Reflection
What have I learnt in this module?
Throughout this semester, I learned how to apply design principles to artwork. Before taking this module, I never noticed how design principle work. It is important to apply these rules to achieve a better composition. In task 1, we were given the task to search the example for each principles of design, which helped us gain a better understanding to it. After we understand the theory, we then can start analyzing an artwork and eventually apply it to our own artwork.
What did I enjoy the most?
I enjoyed every single task that was given. Each task was connected to the others, which allowed me to learn better before reaching the final outcome. However, if I had to choose, I enjoyed working on task 3 the most because we could actually apply what we had already learned.
What did I not enjoy the most?
I found it hard to understand the theory for each principle of design, as it was unfamiliar and somewhat complicated. Even though I enjoyed working on Task 3, I still struggled to achieve a good outcome. I had to think about how to deliver the meaning of my artwork to the audience, so it was crucial to choose a good colors and a strong composition.
What have I learnt about myself through this module?
I noticed that I now see artwork from a completely different perspective. Back then I only saw art for its aesthetics, but now I appreciate it for its message. I also began to analyze every poster or artwork that i see.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
I have improved in creating artwork; back then I never considered composition or applied the principles of design. However, one thing I haven't changed is my approach to exploration, I still stick to usual style of artwork, including the colors and elements I use.
What are my aspirations?
My aspirations are to become a better designer by exploring new techniques and perfecting my skills, I also want to pursue a career in design such as a UI/UX designer or a graphic designer.
